I've been trying to convince my shadow that I'm someone worth following.

Raya was fine. // Thursday, August 23, 2012
Assalamualaikum everyone.
And why wouldn't I have the spirit to post something new on my blog? I've given it a new look! Well, technically not me. I can't. See, because Steve Jobs's Apple technology is so picky and Dad is a big fan of it and here I am using this iMac that can't upload blogskins and giving me a heck of a hard time. So, I just chose the skin I wanted and had my cousin Izzati put the skin on and leave all the editing to me. Yadayadayada.. BY THE WAY IZZATI IS SPENDING HER RAYA AT KOREA SO BIG HA! IN MY FACE.

*Back to being sane.* As you all know, Last Sunday was the first day of Syawal! So, if you guys thought that I would post what I did during raya just because my title is "Raya was fine." then you guys thought wrong! Kahkah joke's on you. Good thing you guys aren't paid to think.

I'm not the type of person to do such things, sorry if you thought I was. I used to be, but no, not anymore.

The actual title of this post should be "Books, books and books." But because I'm a jerk I decided to fool whoever is reading this into thinking I'd post about Eid. Sorry I know that wasn't funny yeah yeah tell me something I don't know.

Books, books and books.

Assalamualaikum everyone. Please pretend that you didn't read all that crap I wrote up there. Spare me my pride.

Anyway, as you all might not know, I'm a huge fan of Haruki Murakami and Shel Silverstein. HM because he's a friggin genius and SS because my second grade teachers; Mrs. Gholson and Ms. Graham used to read me his poems in class. My all time favourite book in the whole wide world is The Giving tree by Shel Silverstein. I even read it from time to time, it's so touching, it warms my heart every time. I find it amusing at the same time because in the past I pasted heart shaped stickers on some pages (especially at the end where the tree becomes a stump and the boy sits on her) and scribbled my name and old address on the front and back with sloppy handwriting. Oh don't even get me started on my second-grade-handwriting.

So to pass the time of this oh-so-boring raya break, I decided to Google a few books written by HM & SS and NOT study. See when break's over I'll be regretting about how my school leave was unproductive and curse myself for being a lazy couch potato but oh I'll save that story for another time.

Here are some books I'm planning on spending cha-ching on.

My priority right now is this book. Norwegian Wood by you know who. The only books I managed to find are by him 1Q84 and What I Talk About When I Talk ABout Running (which is also on my list but I really want Norwegian Wood so I won't buy it until NW is successfully purchased by moi!) SO PLEASE TELL IF YOU FIND IT ANY-FREAKIN-WHERE. And no, I am not a psychotic nut-job. Okay fine, when it comes to books, yes, a little.

Next on my list is (of course!) HM's Kafka On The Shore. Ain't it cute oh please tell me you agree a hundred persent with me. It is, and you know it is. So I read the synopsis on wiki and some book reviews and it seems to be quite interesting. Quite interesting actually means the curiosity of how the book ends is building up inside me and eating my inner organs. Yeah.

And then there's SS's latest book of poems, Every Thing On It. I actually stumbled upon it a few weeks before Raya when I opened his official site after who-knows-when. It was published in 2011 and I mentally killed myself inside because I didn't place it on my booklist sooner.

So those are a few books I'm looking forward to get my itchy hands on. Oh and I'm not the only one going book hunting. There's also my older brother who's so full of himself thinking he's awesome and whatnot, looking for a book called Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl. Whoever they are. But don't waste your time looking for it, I searched it online and it comes out on the 23rd of October and he just won't let go of it.

And well, since Raya is here; of course according to Malaysian's tradition I'll gain loads of money and can actually afford books written by HM and SS. No longer will I be a broke nigga HOHOHO no offense broke niggas out there. The only problem now is the search. Do tell me if you find any of these books, I promise I'll love you forever. That was a lie no shizz. But I'll be eternally grateful.

In a nutshell, GIVE ME THOSE AWESOME BOOKS PEOPLE. GIVE THEM TO ME NOW.

Peace be upon each and every one of you. Happy Eid Mubarak!
